Robert H. Ellis, Jr., DDS

Dr. Robert Ellis, Jr. has been practicing pediatric dentistry in Columbia for over 30 years. Dr. Ellis graduated from the University of South Carolina and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from The Medical College of Virginia (now known as the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine) in Richmond. He also completed his pediatric residency at MCV and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Ellis is proud of the practice’s family-centered environment, as three of his partners consist of his daughter, son, and lifelong family friend. Dr. Ellis’ goal is to treat each patient as if they were a part of his own family and to have this philosophy permeate throughout the entire practice. Dr. Ellis and his wife, Judy, live in Columbia and have three grown children.

Amy Ellis Green, DMD

Board Certified, Diplomate American Board of Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Amy Ellis Green grew up in Columbia, South Carolina. She graduated from the University of South Carolina and received her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1992. She obtained her certificate in pediatric dentistry from MUSC in 1994. She then participated in a fellowship program in pediatric dentistry at Northwestern University in Chicago. Dr. Green has since been in private practice in Columbia and has received her certification as a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Green and her husband, Dr. Nettles Green, live in Forest Acres with their three children.

Robert H. Ellis, III, DMD

Dr. Robert Ellis received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and then completed a two-year pediatric dental residency there, receiving specialized training to treat children. He served as Chief Resident during his residency. Dr. Robert received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina and is privileged to be in practice with his father (Dr. Bob Ellis), his sister (Dr. Amy Ellis Green), childhood friend (Dr. John Jenkins). Dr. Robert also served as President of the South Carolina Society of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Robert loves his profession and feels extremely fortunate to provide dental care to his young patients. He also has privileges to provide dental care in a hospital setting at Palmetto Health Richland Memorial Hospital and The Palmetto Surgery Center. Dr. Robert and his wife, Angie, enjoy chasing around their two young children. They also enjoy traveling and dining out. Dr. Robert is an avid sports fan and enjoys competing in triathlons.

John W. Jenkins, DMD

Board Certified, Diplomate American Board of Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. John W. Jenkins has been practicing dentistry since 1999. He attained his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He subsequently received his specialty license to practice pediatric dentistry from MUSC as well. Dr. Jenkins is a Board Certified Diplomate of Pediatric Dentistry, as are all of the dentists in the practice. Dr. Jenkins and his wife, Marne, have three daughters and reside in Columbia. Dr. Jenkins’ goal is to provide the most up-to-date, comprehensive dental care to children and adolescents in a caring environment. Dr. Jenkins also has privileges at Palmetto Health Richland Memorial Hospital and The Palmetto Surgery Center, where he provides hospital dentistry for patients who cannot tolerate in-office dental care. Dr. Jenkins feels very fortunate to have such a wonderful place to practice pediatric dentistry.

Caitlin Cox Reaves, D.M.D.

Dr. Caitlin Reaves grew up in Auburn, Alabama. She completed her undergraduate studies at Auburn University, then earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry. After finishing dental school, she worked as a general dentist for the Indian Health Service (IHS) on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona for two years. While gaining extensive experience in all aspects of general dentistry, her time with the IHS confirmed that pediatric dentistry was her favorite part of dentistry. Dr. Reaves completed a two year residency and obtained her Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from the Medical University of South Carolina. She recently received the 2016 Richard C. Pugh Achievement Award for scoring in the top three percent on the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry’s Qualifying Examination.

Dr. Reaves and her husband, Mason, keep busy with activities including running, cycling, and exercising their energetic puppy, Walter. They are looking forward to making Columbia their home.

Caroline F. Branchal, D.M.D.

Board Certified, Diplomate American Board of Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Caroline is originally from Martinsville, VA, but has called Blythewood, South Carolina home since she was ten years old. Dr. Caroline graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2008 with a BS in Neuroscience. She was a four year member of the varsity women’s tennis team. Dr. Caroline returned to South Carolina to attend dental school at the Medical University of South Carolina. As a pre-doctoral student, she was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society in 2012 and was a 2010-2011 MUSC Presidential Scholar. Upon graduation in 2012 she moved to Memphis, Tennessee to complete a two year pediatric residency program at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center that focused on treating children from infancy to adolescence, as well as children with special healthcare needs. The residency program included specialized training in both conscious sedation and hospital dentistry.

Dr. Caroline is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD) and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), American Dental Association (ADA), South Carolina Dental Association (SCDA), Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Caroline, her husband, Dan and their three children are excited to call the Midlands home!

 

Julie Wehman, DMD

Dr. Julie Wehman grew up in St. Matthews, South Carolina. She received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Presbyterian College, followed by her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2002. Dr. Wehman then moved to Columbia for a general practice residency at Palmetto Health Richland to focus on advanced dental treatment options for her patients. She has enjoyed practicing dentistry for 13 years and benefits from continuing education on new technologies in the field. Dr. Wehman and her husband, Dr. Jake Wehman, live in Columbia with their two children.
